O.o day after labor day is considered end of summer
It'd be weird to have it now. Bring on Halloween! Punkin hats for everyone!
I agree it's a little late but I want my swimsuits. Next year they will probably hand out the yukatas so it might be a while before we have a chance to get them. If we are able to obtain swimsuits via some other way I'd be ok with that.
Summer doesnt end until the end of september :P
Considering everyone and their mothers have been complaining about the servers,
Im not that surprised that the event hasnt even started yet~

Yeah their summer event is late they said it was going to be a week after official launch.
It isn't all that surprising. While I'm not happy the summer event got delayed, I'm glad that are focusing on bigger issues such as the technical aspects keeping the login restrictions in place. I'm sure they'll fire up the event when they can.
I'm more concerned with this nagging feeling that says the maintenance won't fix everything. I really hope I'm wrong.
I really want to get my own yukatas soon...after I am able to log in to participate in the event.![]()
Where I'm at, summer ended already and fall is starting. By the time fall starts for the rest of the world, It'll be full swing into winter. Oh and we get no spring here either, winter all through march.
The Bombard fate has been up since launch, just south of Costa del Sol (The Return of the King)
Gold rewards 30 wet bombard ash, 20 for silver.
Based on the costs people have reported, you probably need no more than 60 ash to earn all the stuff you haven't seen the last 2 times we saw this event (although the old stuff is probably also available to earn again.
Also- Unconfirmed, but clues suggest that the npc to whom you trade the ash is near Revenant's Toll.
And FFXI's summer event was "summer fest". in XIV, this event is known as "Moonfire Faire". I doubt that it is mandatory for an event of that name to actually be forced to be exclusively a summer event.
