Sunday not so fun day

For the 3rd Sunday is a row, it is impossible to log into Excalibur. Every Sunday, SE posts that there is log-in issue but where is the fix. Please fix the dreaded 1017 issue. Expand your servers and implement a AFK log-out timer, the sooner the better for us all.

hard to login & stay in game with out getting kicked. im stuck in the howling eye hard atm.

I have the same issues. Been getting 1017 for about 6 hours so far. I haven't quite been spamming, but still I've been trying a few times every 10-20 min. I wonder how crowded Excalibur is compared to other worlds numbers-wise. Not that I think its the most crowded or anything, just curious.

You mean everyday? It is not just Sundays that have this problem at all.

If it's taking them so long I hope SE is bringing us more servers than we expect. Not like what SE want to say "Great news! We have added two new worlds! ....Oops all worlds are full again. My apologies and please wait another week while we are working on adding more servers." They can just add an auto-kick afk feature I don't care.

I would bet on it, SE are clueless and short-sighted, they will add very minimal worlds and the problem will be back within hours, I can see it now.

They should consider adding something similar to overflow servers in guild wars 2. I hate referencing other games like this but honestly despite the fact that I stopped playing the game a couple weeks after it came out the overflow servers are a great idea. I sorta think it diminishes the community aspect of the server but with duty finder and everything couldn't be too bad. Adding more worlds unless it's honestly a butt load will probably solve nothing, imagine when they let people buy the game again.(Did that already happen?) The overflow servers would probably be for the zones like towns and the beginning areas anyway. Make it so if you were in a group you could meet with each other on the same server or overflow server....I don't know I'm no game developer but something needs to be done.

I went thru the same thing yesterday on Behemoth. Got kicked about 11am and was unable to log on the rest of the day. Today I didn't have high hopes especially after trying for 1 & 1/2 hrs. But I decided to reboot my machine after the client kept acting quirky. Once I rebooted I was in within 10minutes.

I agree with this, one of the things GW2 done right was their server structure.

Overflow servers were genius, getting to play while in the queue.. yes please, amazing..

Getting to guest on other servers and play with friends on different servers without transferring.. incredible..

I kind of hoped it would be like this when they originally said FFXIV : ARR was going to use a "world-less" model, either they scrapped that idea or they simply meant cross world duty finder.
