yeah go VIT and learn the fight. know when damage is coming your way and prepair by either popping a CD or waiting to use inner beast right after it hits.

She has a few abilitys that can be dodge all to gether. i cant remeber the name of it but, on the first phase its the only attack she does that has a cast bar. just run through her and then back to your original spot when shes done casting. its a SUPER heavy attack and can be dodged just by getting out of the way. I have noticed there is no red box for said attack. seems to be a cone.

that being said, you gotta trust in your healer and trust in your self heals. help the healer as much as possible by rotating cool downs. communicate when your going to use inner beast if possible. Over all its a tough fight but can be done for sure.

People keep saying warrior heals are based on a percentage of max health... that is not true.. They have one heal that is based on max HP( Thrill of battle ), ALL the others (Bloodbath, second wind, inner beast , and storm's path) are based on attack power/damage output. I for one put all my points in str and had no problem tanking that primal, you just need to know when to use your heals and when to move to avoid skills. If you want to make life easier on the healer having more damage out put (making fights shorter as well as more self-healing) will save them more mana in the long run. Oh and having more str also increases the amount of damage you mitigate when you parry.

Hmm, paladin definitely take less damage than Warrior at high level. xivdb.com and look up paladin skills. Big one is Shield Oath: Reduces damage received by 20%, while lowering damage dealt by 20% and increasing enmity. It's an "always on", like Defiance. Then you have all the extra cooldown ones: Sentinal, Rampart, Bulwark, Hallowed Ground. And the blocks from shield. All put together I expect pally to take a lot less damage.

What warrior does is higher HP and heal themselves somewhat. In a way, it sort of evens out. But it'll be like pally very steady life bar, while warrior goes up and down a lot.

As for Str vs. Vit, I'm full Vit at the moment. It adds 17 HP per vit (510 HP for full VIT at lvl 50). That's roughly 8% of total HP for me currently. I don't really know what % of total damage 30 Str would add. If it's 5% or more, I might go Str instead. But I'm guessing it'll be less than that.

As an "average" warrior, you should be able to tank Garuda and everything else up at least as far as Amdapor Keep. Maybe even all the way up, but I haven't been there yet to say. Think of warrior as the "hard mode" of tank: you're a bit harder to heal, but you bring more DPS to the table. And it's not *that* bad on the healing. I prefer Warrior so far for those reasons.
