I've found the most efficient way to go positive is to run into high level FATE AoE tagging monsters naked with only a weapon on that has a low repair cost. Positive Seals, Positive Gil, Positive Repairs.

Any other way people have said so far takes more durability than it gives back in gil.

I would whole hearty agree, sadly that is about the only way right now that or wear gear from level 20 with weapon that is cheap to repair in the 40+, but still naked with weapon might be about the only way and that speaks volumes about how dire the situation is.
