That's funny, because every time I run a few Dungeon and get few drop I can sale it and make around 20 - 30k every time. I net in close to 80k if I keep doing it the whole day. And Repair Equipment is also very cheap. If you don't want grind Dungeon drop and sale it, there always Crafting as well.

Almost positive that the amount lost with every transaction in the AF is 10% and not 5%. There is fee for both buyer and seller. In addition to things like repairs and teleportation(although optional), I can easily see how it would affect the economy in a detrimental way given the low rate at which Gil is generated post game.

Removing the fees from the AH and lowering/removing repair prices are quick fixes.

Also, to anyone talking about how the OP is wrong because you easily make money from the AH...go home, you're drunk and could not have missed the OP's point more.

Well you could sell to friends for less than what it is on the AH. Just a thought.

I weep for logic and common sense. It's always a me me me me me me mentality. It seems very few understand that once the initial infusion of gil through doing every quest is tapered off by fewer and fewer subs that the economy will overall be stagnant or worse deflating.

the AH taking a cut literally removes gil from the game, basically permanently and depending on how much you're selling an item for, at a far higher rate than is being introduced. Repairs, Teleports, etc... all remove gill from the game permanently.

Putting gil in the game is done via quest rewards, vendoring items, fates, leves, guildhests dungeons... The AH does NOT put gil INTO the economy. The AH moves gil from one players bank to another players bank, while removing x% for transaction fees.

I know people that have paid 6k in a repair bill, and I personally at 38 paid 1200g in a repair bill. Shuffling money from one players bank to another is not an influx of NEW gill, it is a movement of OLD gil and even a REMOVAL of a % of that old gil. It will take awhile, because the game is so new, and many people will level more than one character. But eventually, the way things currently are, the economy will become at best stagnant and at worst deflate, leaving the gil in the hands of few... eventually even those few will have no way to continue making gil.

Too lazy to find facepalm ascii art.

The issue isn't making money, it is the health of the economy and they amount of gil in it. As in the amount of gil in the economy at this point could easily be going down faster than it is going up.

Of course no official stats to support this but with all the gil sinks in the game it is hard to see otherwise.

    Ok,

People dont seem to be getting what OP and many other mean so here goes:

How much money you can make selling things to other people doesnt matter at all, the point is this

How much money is coming from The server (non player population) into the Player Population......Leves/Fates/Dungeons/Quests (if you have any left)

    compared to

How much money is Leaving the player population back to the server.....Repairs/teleporting/Auction House 5% cut

we need to look at how much the playerbase as a whole is making from the server, compared to what it is losing back to the server, not how much is changing hands from one player to another

as far as i can tell (based on having many many 50's in my FC and friends list) outside of money earned from other players, all my level 50 friends are losing much more per day (to the server) than they earn (from the server).

in conclusion: OP is correct, at this rate the economy will be in real trouble soon if more ways to earn gil from non player sources aren't added

Its not a big deal because you will ultimately be forced to change to a more productive strategy once you run out of gil.

Anyone else find it amusing when anyone comes up with a decent rebuttle to an OP in most threads they skip past it and comment on everyone elses posts rather than discuss the viability of a successful presented option ? ^^ will repost in case you missed it

For those who have a standard subscription (8 characters per world), you could always create a second character on the same server and play through the game again and again to make 200k gil each time. Once you've made the gil, store it in your FC chest, delete the character, reroll, and play again. Not something I would personally do though.
