Tip: How to be a better Mage! THM read this too! FFXI protip

    Macro sleep

/p [Sleep] [spell] <t> in 2 seconds. (Do NOT TOUCH).
    /wait 2
    /ac "Sleep" <t>

Announce what you are doing, before you do it.
Make tanking easier and healing them easier.

    [] auto-translate
() Optional if you think the human race needs more guidance.

*THM - People are not psychic, if your target was asleep for more than 5 seconds, fine, but too many have cried when it was much shorter.

Macro EVERYTHING! Announce everything! That's how we rolled in FFXI.

As a Tank, I macro Shield Bash and Shield Swipe, so DD may stand firm instead of running away like frightened school girls when I have stunned an AoE.

Does it stop here? No. Apply macros to all classes and jobs. Continue the FFXI tradition and lead by example of how good a player you are, so that more may strive to be as good as you.

I agree but announcing everything is a bad idea. Announce when you buff, control, area heal or ranged based buffs, etc. but announcing that you are attacking your target, healing your target or aggro'ing the same enemy is too much. :P If you are reviving you should definitely announce that so people know that you will be unable to heal (or damage in the case of SMN).

So far I have met only one person (a tank) that announces his attack targets. I have yet to see anyone else except me and that tank announce anything using macros. Macros are officially supported and apart of the game so might as well take advantage of them.

P.S. Don't be like me and hit buttons too fast as that will get you in trouble more then it will help the group. :P

Too many times, derps like to break a mob I had cc'd, only to have it start beating on me again due to a fail tank. This will help immensely, thanks for the idea!

That's because most dps are inexperienced and keeps spamming their attacks without looking. I've been with a random group of leets...didn't even need to tell them anything about sleeping targets...they looked at the mob's status bar before they hit their attack button.

I find it a good idea to include a marking in the macro - a HUGE "DO NOT TOUCH" sign over a mobs head helps

    ie:

    /micon
    /p Sleeping <t> in 2 seconds
    /mk ignore1
    /ac repose <t>
/p "<t> slept. You tag it you keep it!
