So.. no FF Spell names, but only for english ?

It's been beated to the ground into the beta forums truth to told.
Everyone took it the wrong way by saying we weren't smarter than the JP and shit.
Personally, I grew with the ra ga do re mi shit and these Fire I II and III is boring and stupid.
At the end of the day, any way you go about it, it still is the same skill but they didn't have to dummy it down and make it boring as Jesus.
At least give u an option, they said no so yeah...

sorry i retract that, you are right, i went and put in final fantasy 7 and checked, so it was ff 8 and up and the new names were implemented

No, the names got more common place starting with 8, however, they first used those names in ff3.

The problem is its Thunder 1, Thunder 2, as opposed to Bolt 1, Bolt 2, etc.

I don't care either way, but I'd rather it be

EITHER

Bolt 1, Bolt 2, Bolt 3, OR Thunder, Thundara, Thundaga
Ice 1, Ice 2, Ice 3, OR Blizzard, Blizzara, Blizzaga.

I'm kinda confused how they managed to mix them up.

Unless this is how it is in the new games (I haven't really played much since FF9).

Even then, Lit, Ice and Fir, Bio, Pig etc. were limitations of the NES in which all spells had to be 4 digits or less when you got to Lit2, Ice2 etc. As technology progressed, the names got longer.

If you want to get technical we should all be casting Lit, Ice, Fir etc. The spells have evolved over time so you can't really say the current names aren't Final Fantasy as they really are [aside from Medica], just maybe not from the game you want.

They're using the classic naming convention for spells, FF to FFVII used it. The new spell naming started in FFVIII

My point is I've never seen thunder 2 or thunder 3. Apparently they're only in the MMO versions.

Regardless, if theres an addon that gives me the much more iconic names I would be all for it.
