So.. no FF Spell names, but only for english ?

I remember no such discussion in beta. And honestly, i don't care for those names. Would rather they stay as they are, feels more like FF and FF7 that way.

sorry i retract that, you are right, i went and put in final fantasy 7 and checked, so it was ff 8 and up and the new names were implemented

No, the names got more common place starting with 8, however, they first used those names in ff3.

The problem is its Thunder 1, Thunder 2, as opposed to Bolt 1, Bolt 2, etc.

I don't care either way, but I'd rather it be

EITHER

Bolt 1, Bolt 2, Bolt 3, OR Thunder, Thundara, Thundaga
Ice 1, Ice 2, Ice 3, OR Blizzard, Blizzara, Blizzaga.

I'm kinda confused how they managed to mix them up.

Unless this is how it is in the new games (I haven't really played much since FF9).

Even then, Lit, Ice and Fir, Bio, Pig etc. were limitations of the NES in which all spells had to be 4 digits or less when you got to Lit2, Ice2 etc. As technology progressed, the names got longer.

If you want to get technical we should all be casting Lit, Ice, Fir etc. The spells have evolved over time so you can't really say the current names aren't Final Fantasy as they really are [aside from Medica], just maybe not from the game you want.

My point is I've never seen thunder 2 or thunder 3. Apparently they're only in the MMO versions.

Regardless, if theres an addon that gives me the much more iconic names I would be all for it.
