    One extreme to the other?

    I understood the issues of FFXI and their NM system. I hope that exact system never comes back. I dont think many would argue that. However fates ended up being on the other end of the spectrum...entirely.

    For grinding fates, it's fine that a bunch of people mindlessly group up and kill something without much effort. However even these fates that are ment to be challenging are a joke. Even without a hord of people, theres nothing interesting about them outside of moving away from a cone or circle.
    And I dont even understand why this is. I've played all the dungeons so far. They have some pretty damn good mechanics. Some bosses are pretty tough! Not fates though.
    For example I was doing a whm quest and ended up doing some 48-49 boss fate. A lancer ended up joining me. I thought cool, I can actually test it. I'll probably die with only me and a lancer, but hell why not? Worst comes to worst, an easy blood warp.

    It died. It died quickly and the lancer could have just solo'd the damn thing. He wasn't even 50. It didn't do anything fancy. It didnt have anything out of the oridinary. It was a baatel monster look alike that just did one simple cone move. No adds...no nothing. A 48-49 fate boss.
    Make them truly NM fates. Make me die a few times trying to figure out how to kill it. Let it drop something cool and unique but not game shattering.
    You dont need to make it spawn only once every 72 hours to make me happy. You dont need to make it so I have to fight it for 8 hours to kill. Just give me a good entertaining 10 minutes so I can have something to equip and show my friends, so they too can go out and do the Fate.

    That's all I'm asking.
