Agree 100%. The current crafting system isn't a smart crafting system. But I don't believe that simply eliminating all dyes from the creation process will create a more interesting system. I'm requesting that SE not stop after allowing dyeing after-the-fact, but take another step and add something to enrich the crafting process.

Touché, but conversely just because everyone does it doesn't make it the best way to do it, either. I think fewer people would have problems with the cloth / leather dyeing system if SE hadn't used it as a club to restrict players from crafting items. As below ...

SE could have been a lot more original here. Rather than requiring particular dyed buffalo leather strap, they could have various supplemental effect based on the color chosen (e.g. +3 fire element for red leather). Instead they chose to beat us about the head and shoulders.

In the end, I'd prefer that SE move forward with a system that shows promise, rather than revert to a copy-paste of every other MMO on the planet.
