Why do we play MMOs if we are just going to make everything in an instance? Suddenly all the content is instanced and we're no longer playing an MMO, we're just playing an entrance lobby.

It needs to be in the open world or it should not be in the game at all.

Ultima Online was one of the oldest MMOs ever made and it had persistent player housing.
