    I detest the idea of walking past 200 tiny replica houses on the way from Ul'dah gates to Horizon. It would ruin the area rather than compliment it.

    I detest the idea of walking past 200 non-replica houses on the way from Ul'dah gates to Horizon. It would ruin the area rather than compliment it.

    I detest the idea of walking past 2,000 houses just to reach my own house in an instanced area. I fail to understand the point of having so many houses in one place.

    I like the idea of having small instanced areas where you and your company can collectively build houses and whatnot, and can invite others over to show them off.

    I don't mind the idea of having individual instanced areas where you and you alone can build your house.

    I don't really like the idea of having an instanced room and that's it. Unless you could grow the size of the room. Still, I would prefer to have a house rather than a room on the basis of wanting to have a garden and a balcony if possible.

    I respect that this game is not a construction game and that I will get what I am given. In the end, I would prefer that this be a game that people spend more time outside of their housing than in it.

    Lol ok thank you Bleh for your post. I'm not doubting you're a realist philosophically but I wanted to point out that you don't really have any information to go on. We know so little of PS3 limitations, performance limitations, or even what performance is going to look like when the guy from Sonic Team finishes his work on the FFXIV game engine. I think giving up on the benefits of non-instanced housing for the "conclusion" that only instanced housing would work based on a false analysis is a big waste. I'm glad to hear your objections but saying ideas won't work is not an objection. Saying you don't want to see clutter is a valid objection. Do you see what I mean about there being a difference between an objection and pessimism?

    Loony Bob just posted that he doesn't want to see 2,000 other houses on the way to his house. I think that's a great objection and I agree with him. Solutions to that: you could teleport straight to your house, you could not build houses so close together, there could be instances that accomodate a large amount of other players but stopping short of a huge amount of clutter. Also Loony Bob you mentioned you wouldn't want to see houses on the road. Maybe the dev team could set aside areas that are more rural? I think having houses farther away from the roads and camps is a lot cooler.

    I Don't see how housing could add to game play at all does nothing for me..... My house stayed the same way i got when i first bought XI (except the bed for item storage upgrades)... maybe i just prefer to kill stuff just my 2 cents.

    What if everytime you killed something its body dropped onto a pile in a remote corner of Coerthas? It could be your very own instanced pile of vanquished battle foes.

    Now that we have seen SE is capable of implementing their own additions to the zones, perhaps that at least goes to show player-owned properties are a realizable possibility. Even though there would still be many issues to resolve, graphically speaking, it seems as if it's possible.

    I just want a FF XI style mog house and i will be happy. I think player built house all over the landscape would be a bit silly, unless they had specific areas dedicated to this.
