I feel the same way as OP.

Great explanation in to words, I feel much more educated.

People seem to be forgetting the positives, there is a large amount of people who is able to play and when they do play, unlike other MMORPGs launch (from what I heard), they are kept inside, that is the dedication from SE, no, THE FFXIV TEAM, is putting to make sure as much players as possible have a great experience while they are trying to fix the problems. You want to log in just to get kicked off or crash the client? I didn't realize people love that kind of abuse.

SE has lots of MMORPG experience? Sure, The FFXIV team? People need to realize it is not one team that does all of SE MMORPGs.

Here's my disclaimer; I am one of the lucky ones that can log in every night solely because I come home very late.

It is good to be modest, see Dead Space 3, Tomb Raider, all those sequel hits that failed from profiting because they estimated how well is was going to sell (Totally not your problem, so don't worry when the company goes down under water).

Mhmm, why am I see the same people posting back in this thread with an argument?

Well because this is a great game and you know it, or else you should really consider the refund option. I would if I got some lame phone that didn't work.

There sure is a lot of people posting about errors, but once they are in, they don't post how they can log in and play for days! Just the people who get the errors.

Not sure you are fully up to speed on the history there, or maybe some of it has just slipped the mind.

First, the easy one. A LOT of talent involved with FFXI was moved to the FFXIV rebuild, as well as pulling from other succesful projects.

Now... all that bit about people getting in and being allowed to stay in, and SE ensuring a good play experience for them.

Really? Did I just read that right?

People have been denied access because a butt load of the people SE has been allowing to stay in there and ensure they have a good gaming experience have been mostly sitting AFK and not playing the game, preventing others from getting in the game. If not for those circle-jerks clogging the pipes, it may not be appearing so free flowing and stable to those able to get in during peak times. Which leads to another problem...

It's potentially presenting SE with false data. If they see 4k consistently staying on and there are no issues with the instanced content servers (the root of the problem), they may get the wrong impression that all is well--never mind that 2000 of those players may be sitting around a crystal doing nothing, and only 2000 are actively engaging content regularly. What might happen if that number suddenly spikes to the full 4000 or more? Another crash?

So.. no. SE has failed to take appropriate action with the issues at hand, and they should not be given a pass for not responding properly.
