    Cannot Register Collector's Edition Code

    Okay, so, I had purchased the CE of FFXIV:ARR, but so far have been able to register my code at the Mog Station. What seems to be the deal, is that I was given a buddy code from someone who had the CE of FFXIV 1.0, and I had no idea that I would be given a full service account!

    I thought I still had to purchase the game. So, I pre-ordered the Digital Collector's Edition. Upon getting my code, I found out that I can't even register it because I already have a service associated with my account! And its a basic edition. I found out that if I wanted the CE, I could do the cheaper Digital Upgrade, but again, had no idea that the XIV 1.0 buddy code would have gotten me a full service account.

    So, I'm stuck after purchasing the CE, and can't upgrade it without paying for the Digital Upgrade through the Mog Station. Anyone have any tips, suggestions that I can do?

    I've already tried contacting support on August 26th, and got a notice about getting a reply within 48 hours... and I still have not received a reply. I'm at a loss about what course of action I should take at this point. I just don't want to have to repurchase the Digital Upgrade after I paid for the more expensive pre-order CE of the game. I just wanna use this code to upgrade it, but can't!

    Hi NDSGuy,

    I'm going to link you to a thread I've been posting in which details almost the same issue as you, and the most efficient way to get it fixed. What ever you do, DO NOT buy the Digital Collectors Edition upgrade as the issue can be fixed with customer services and you really don't want to be giving Square Enix more money right now with all the issues going on! Obviously the account merging doesn't apply to you as you haven't created a new service account yet with your CE code, so best to raise a ticket asking how to apply the code to your account or have SE do it for you, then note the ticket number and call customer services, or attempt the online chat.
