He's just answering a question that's asked. Seriously you can't walk 2 feet without stepping on a troll around here.I think it would be a LOT better to solve these issues of people being unable to make a character on a server to play with their friends, rather than putting resources into an app that isn't necessary to the success of this game. Players PLAYING the game, that is necessary. An iPhone/Android app? You're not going to be bringing in the revenue y'all need with that.
Yes, me giving an honest opinion makes me a troll, gg.
9 times out of 10, the customer DOES blame the waiter/waitress for the food being made wrong/taking to long. You never see a customer walk into the kitchen and yell at them, do you? No, you tell the server what is wrong and expect them to relay said information to where it matters.That's like you working as a waitress in a restaurant but the food isn't being made quickly enough or properly and your customers are yelling at you to go in there and make the food instead of waitressing.
On a side note, do people really have to jab android vs apple every chance they get? It's a preference thing..move on.
That still doesn't make any sense on why you would say to someone "why waste time working on a smartphone app when the game needs to be fixed". You're right, the waitress does get the crap because he/she is the person you engage but would you say to the waiter "why are you wasting time serving me drinks and taking my orders when the food needs to be fixed?". No you wouldn't. You expect them to relay the information while still providing you with the service they are intended to do. Thus, making a smartphone app because that's what certain people were hired to do does not hinder the progress of the actual game.9 times out of 10, the customer DOES blame the waiter/waitress for the food being made wrong/taking to long. And I was simply saying a smartphone app is much less important than the existing issue, No where did I once say to NOT work on the app. I was placing my opinion to the staff that was providing information, for them to dictate to where it needs to go. All you're trying to do is pick apart my opinion, that fixing what's wrong with the game should be more precedential to side programs, that is ALL I was saying. I have yet to see anything in the dev tracker regarding what they're doing to fix this issue of people being unable to create new characters on servers. And don't try with the "Make a new char on a different server" Because that's not fair to us either. I have friends that have been trying to get into Balmung since day 2 of Phase 4, and have yet to be able to. It's rather unreasonable to ask me to go to a different server, unless they want to provide free transfers to people to go to less populated servers, though that still would be a rather temporary fix.That still doesn't make any sense on why you would say to someone "why waste time working on a smartphone app when the game needs to be fixed". And to keep to your analogy;
A customer may not tell the server their wasting their time with drinks, but when they continuously bring out drinks without providing the food that was on order, said customer generally would stop them and ask why the food hasn't come yet.
I gathered that's what you're trying to say. You're right, a smartphone app is useless without a properly working game. But what do you expect the people working on the app to do then? For all we know, maybe they do have knowledge of servers and game developement but let's go under the assumption that that's know where their area of expertise is. Their job is to make an app (and god knows what else). Do you want SE to take the time to train them on something new so they can focus on what's more important?
I'm not picking apart anything you're saying. You're either not getting your full point across of you literally want all of SE to divert their attention to only gameplay and all I'm saying is it's most likely not possible that they can so to complain about the app doesn't really do anything.
Also, while they may not have "directly" addressd the character creation problem, they have mentioned they will monitor servers. Also, they still do rotate character creation on servers based on that one thread somewhere in the forum. I don't keep an eye of which servers absolutely do not open up so sorry if you're on one of those servers. Their notices do come more slowly than what most people would like but they do a good enough job of keeping people updated.
