The pressure to skip cut-scenes!

What people don't realize is that you can't watch cut scenes from Praetorium in your Inn. So you're going to call someone rude for wanting to enjoy content in a game that they paid for? If you're looking for a speed run, or a dungeon under specific conditions create your own group, don't PUG up with random people and then call them rude for not obliging your needs.

I do Praetorium all the time myself for the Tombstones, but it really doesn't bother me that they like watching the cut scenes. I'm happy that they're enjoying the game, and sometimes half my group is talking about the story or other stuff from the dungeon. I hate when someone comes in and tries to push everyone else around because they just want to get their stones and leave.

Seriously, how long are the cut scenes on average? 40-60 seconds? Not being 50 yet, I haven't experienced this myself but I am already out of patience for people like this. Anyone watching the cut scene is obviously new to the dungeon and doing it for the story. Give them a break. Anyone who calls it "rude" can go suck an egg.

I watched all the cut-scenes during my first run of the story, all people can do is moan, its not going to effect you, plus it just crushes their souls when all their provocations fall of deaf ears.

Look you're the one enjoying the game. If you want to watch the cutscenes please do. Enjoy them! And if someone tries to piss on that then tell them to bug off.

I'm reminded of an old saying, "patience is a virtue". Those people saying others should skip cut scenes are displaying a lack of virtue and as such, kindness.

It's people like these that make the world a bad place to live. Worst part, they can't even see why.

No one is going to tell me when I can and can't watch a cutscene in a game I PAID for in a story dungeon I WORKED to get to. Earlier when I was finishing the story I got two groups. One bad, one good.

Cutscene skip zerg group? Half the party was trying to watch Cut scenes the other half were mad at them and zerging the dungeon. Healer decided , Oh I can't watch my CS? Fine I'll just pull aggro then. One of the DPS? Decided to spam the chat up. The two zerging the dungeon? They didn't even wait for us to get to lifts even when we weren't in cutscenes and were right behind them. Then half the group got lost in the dungeon.

Second group. I directly ask at the start of the dungeon. Who's watching Cutscenes, A healer, Me, Another DPS, and A tank were watching them. The one guy we got that time that wanted to skip all the scenes I basically told him. He should just let people watch CS or we'll be out vital party members. And he was like "Well we will wipe then" and I said "Oh well. That's what being impatient will get you."

Beat the run with pretty much 60 minutes to spare. You can ask nicely for people to skip scenes at the start of the dungeon. But if they say they want to watch them. Then you will either wait or you will wipe. It might be selfish but people paid their own cash money for this game and expect to experience it how they wish. Praetoreum isn't an endgame dungeon. If you want to spam it create a premade or be courteous to your fellow party members.

I could see getting annoyed months down the road (though I still wouldn't be mad at anyone for watching), but seriously guys? The game's been out for a week. Like someone else posted above, me watching a cutscene will only ever be an inconvenience ONE TIME. If this bothers you, well, that sucks. I guess you'll have to get back in queue.

yea my praetorium groups hounded me and the other whm about it making jokes, getting angry, saying we were gonna fail it...still beat it in good time.

They are there for a reason. If you don't want to watch them, make a group that will all agree on skipping. There seem to be enough of you so it can't be that hard. I personally hate skipping cut scenes in ANY game unless I've ALREADY watched them. Even then I will NEVER be so selfish as to be rude to another player because they want their chance to experience the story in full spectrum as well, especially since refusal to make your own party is just lazy. Grow up people, there are easy ways around your problem other than being rude to new players coming up and trying to enjoy the game as it was intended to be played.

If people are telling you to skip the cutscene... too bad for them. =P That's what I used to tell my linkshell when they wanted me to skip a cutscene.

The only time you should definitely skip a cutscene is when...

1) You are going for a timed run. (Do those even exist in ARR? I haven't touched endgame yet. In 1.0, there was a lot of pressure to skip every cutscene because you would get extra loot if you finished the dungeon within a certain amount of time.)
2) If you are doing multiple attempts to the same fight, and you really don't NEED to watch the cutscene again. (From what I can see -- in Duty Finder, if you 'fail' a primal battle, it will automatically start you at the beginning point... no cutscenes repeated.)

If a bunch of people make a group specifically to do dungeon runs for EXP or seals/currency and you JOIN that group knowing what it's for... then I suppose it's common courtesy to 'skip' the cutscenes because everyone's there for a different purpose.

But if you're doing the dungeon to do the storyline, and you haven't seen it before? Watch it to your heart's content. No one can kick you. The cutscenes aren't THAT long. You should be able to enjoy it as it happens because it also has to do with what you're fighting and why.
