Can I please cast Protect on people?

I hate not being able to cast Protect on people who are not in my party. I can use Cure, Esuna, and even Stone Skin. But not Protect? What kind of decision is this?

Especially in FATEs, where random tanks burst onto the scene (like me XD), and especially for boss FATEs.

Protect is a Party Buff, instead of an individual buff.

I'm asking to make it a not-party buff as well.

I miss stoneskin being lvl 8, automatic AoE and hitting people outside of party at the same time. Protect used to be like this too.
