With in the last few days more and more people have been able to level and get their first toon near the level 40-50 mark. Now more people are finding that fate farming is a faster way to level and just skip the main story line all together. The issue that I speak of is the high population areas where every one (including level 50 players) are farming fates. As an example dragon head is a popular place for level 37-50 people to farm fates due to high spawn rates and relatively easy fates for time and effort. as more and more people hit higher levels even when grouped since there are so many people trying to participate in the same fate I have noticed several issues. For one the monster won't load on your screen correctly because they game is trying to render all the character models and prioritizes the enemy models last so you are unable to target enemies. secondly even in groups it is incredibly difficult to get max contribution unless your in a group, and then even so it is rough. I just see this becoming more and more of a problem once people continue to reach max level and start farming the same zones. Now I know maintenance on Sept 3 is planning on adding new servers to help alleviate population but I don't know if you have taken into effect max level play for fates. The main problem with having to join a group to help get max contribution in a fate is you may be a dps class who is waiting in the duty finder for a dungeon and there fore cannot join a group or it takes you out of the duty finder. In most MMO's you have factions that split population down the line, but in FF 14 all factions work together (versus lets say horde/alliance). I just see this becoming more of an issue as the player base gets close to hitting 50 as a server and the problem gets continually worse. When fates were originally introduced in the Beta it was said by the developers that mobs would get tougher the more people that participated in the fate (ex more hp) but it is my experience that this is a set amount. Now again in fate farmed zones unless you are fighting a big boss baddie it is specifically difficult for casters to get any damage contribution when the mob dies before they can get a cast off and really no one needs healing during these encounters. Again it would be nice if these issues were addressed now before they become a greater problem in the future.
