One way SE can make ffxiv f2p is to limit those players to max lvl 20 and if a class is over 20 (from a sub ending and not renew), to have it lvl sync to 20. Doing so limits these players to try out the game to see if they want to continue.

Some other limits could be: can not join a FC, LS, speak in zone chat, no use of a retainer, no use of teleport. These are just some ideas, a lot of the P2P games have a similar F2P system in place.

Why are you trying to find ways to make this game f2p? I bet I am not alone when I say I would not be here at all if this were a f2p game. There are enough of them out there already if that is what someone is looking for. This game is not one of them.

SE is already a victim of their immense success with this game. Let's not make it worse by suggesting fixes to problems that don't exist.

That's not really f2p what you are describing is more like what WOW does with its extended trials.
