    Nvidia GTX 780M Not detected

Attempting to play on a MSi GT70 (Laptop) with a GTX 780M using up-to-date drivers (7/1). FFXIV is only detecting the on board GPU (Intel blah blah blah...) and not the GTX. Has anyone else experienced this, or more importantly resolved it?

    Thanks in advance!

In my experience, the game and benchmark software seem to have trouble properly displaying the graphics card that it is using.
I have a gtx680 and the game says it is using the Intel HD graphics processor even though it isn't.
Best way to make sure that it is using your actual graphics card is to go into the Nvidia Control Panel and setting FF14 ARR to always use your Nvidia graphics card.
The game and benchmark will most likely say that it is still using Intel HD graphics, but if you look at the accompanying stats for the processor it should match up with your Nvidia card.
Easiest way to see this is look at the Vram that it says the graphics processor has.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks! I'll have to give this a shot once things are up and running again tomorrow.

Also, I hear what you're saying about it being inaccurate regarding which card is displayed, but the only reason I even noticed this issue was because the game wasn't allowing me to bump my resolution up to 1920x1200 despite my Windows default being set to this res and my card being more than adequate to handle it.

Will let you know how it turns out once I can try it. Thanks again.

    Sounds like it's not switching (Optimus technology). TouchandFeel pretty much hit it on the nail. Can try;

    --

In the NVIDIA Control Panel, under the 3D Setting > Manage 3D Setting

On the right side of the screen

    Select the Global Setting tab
under "Prefer graphic processor" Select "High Performance NVIDIA Processor"

Now click on the Program setting tab

click on "Add" and navigate to wherever directory your game is installed and select the exe file for your game.

Then click on "Open" and after you done the adding, under the 2. Select prefer graphic processor for this program select "High Performance NVIDIA Processor" then click "Apply"

Well, it recognizes my GPU now, but will not display in 1920x1200 without me manually entering it (i.e. it's not a selectable resolution in the drop down).

Either way, it's running much better now and I thank you all for the help!
