well SE did say they were going to add in new Primal one that no one would be expecting, so I am guessing the Old-man is coming back.

Didn't see anyone mention this, but he is called the dark divinity, just like in FFXI. In FFXI, he was an avatar aligned with the kindred (demons).

Who is Odin? Thats simple. He is an angry dude on a horse that sometimes appears in the Black Shroud.
In one of the beta phases of A REALM REBORN i seen someone saying in chat that Lousiox is Odin. And im starting beliving it. In a video on youtube you se someone sneak wery near Odin when hes without helm on and i gotta say it looks realy like Lousiox. What we can do is wait..
Well, I ran the Odin-background sidequest earlier this week, and I took some notes on the dialogue and events there within. Admittedly, I should've posted this after I completed the quest chain, but I was too caught up trying to complete the story, haha! Anyway, here's what I wrote down:
- Odin is known as "The Dark Divinity"
- Bowlord Lewin asks for your help, as there have been multiple sightings of a dark rider in the Twelveswood
- After confirming the sightings, Lewin sends you to O-App-Pesi at Quarrymill for further information
- O-App-Pesi informs you that Odin slew the queen, Urth, and her people
- Odin was eventually slain by an Allagan hero, and was sealed away in the crystal located in Urth's Fount
- When you investigate his shattered crystal prison, you must defeat a soul called "The Last of the Allagan"
- Upon inspecting the crystal, you find a stone that indicates Odin is indeed free of his prison
- When the stone is shown to O-App-Pesi, he tells you that it was shattered from the inside
- (I can't remember who says this, Pesi or the Conjurer) You learn that it's odd that Odin is remaining in the Shroud
- The only record of Odin are from ancient Allag
- Urianger makes a cryptic reference to only knowing one side of history, and asks us to find out the rest of the truth ourselves
Between this and Odin's dialogue, he doesn't seem like a villain. According to Odin, he feels justified in killing Urth, and he also seems to believe that she's still alive. Hm, maybe being trapped for a...y'know, I don't think they ever say how long it's been since Odin was around. Or if they did, I forgot to make note of it. But to finish my thought, maybe his long imprisonment messed up his memory?
Who knows, but here is actually an interesting thing about the Odin FATE.
It appears that the person to land the killing blow on Odin has a slightly different ending screen for the FATE. And next time that Odin appears, he will bear the likeness of his slayer. (somewhere around these boards is the video of that happening, tiny, tiny Odin)
Perhaps that is something important to his nature, and this blond-haired man we see is not Odin himself but the one who was, technically, his last slayer, that allagan hero.
Do you mean this video?

That's not really a different ending so much as Odin DID complete Zantetsuken, but because he died before the attack's damage could be registered only the effect was shown. You can try this out on any mob that uses an AoE attack--kill them as they finish using it, and even though it looks like you got hit, you won't take any damage.
As for this guys follow-up video where Odin has his name in brackets under it, well, I'unno anything about that.
Louisoix is NOT Odin.
Momo Ochita From Ragnarok
Is it possible that rather than Louisoix being Odin that Odin is actually Louisox? They say all of the original scions (Tancred, Yda, ect.) are really the twelve in mortal form. So is it possible that instead of being one of the actual twelve that Louisoix could be Odin's human form that he took to leave his crystal prison? If so then maybe he returned to his normal form after the calamity by taking advantage of Bahamute's return which could have weekend his seal thus letting him free him self.
Then if that's true may be the twelve also take the form of elder primals and Bahamute and Odin are like the destroyer and savior of the mortal races. Cause I highly doubt that Bahamute would have spared the best tribes if left to ravage Eorzia unchallenged.
I highly, highly doubt that Odin and Louisoix are one and the same for a few reasons. For one, they don't have the same face model, and their tattoos are different. That's a pretty big discrepancy, and while it could be Square just trying to pull wool over our eyes, it's still representative of them being different. Secondly, I can't really picture the guy going around slaughtering countless people even if that happened XXXX-number of years ago. We may not know when exactly Odin was around, but since he was slain by an Allagan hero, we can assume that Odin's last recorded appearance was over 4000 years ago. And lastly, Odin's been sealed in crystal for all those years, and he freed himself from the inside-out. That means it happened after Bahamut wrecked the place, and after Louisoix vanished.
I'm not saying it's not a possibility--this is a FF game after all--but the evidence we have leans heavily towards the two having no relation whatsoever. Maybe something at the bottom of the Binding Coil will reveal this all to us, but until then I'm skeptical at best.
