Irony from SE?

So, I decided to take the advice of all the well-intentioned people (aka "Fanbois") who have been telling us to stop ranting on the Tech Support boards, and trotted over to the "Community/General Discussion".

It seems I can't post there because my character level isn't high enough. But, I can't level my character because...well, you all know why.

Classic "Catch 22". Joseph Heller would be saying, "Nah, even I couldn't have come up with something that stupid."

So, I guess this falls under the big umbrella of "Tech Support". Why the character level restriction on a "general" forum? Is this supposed to be an earned privilege?

It seems like they just don't want people to be able to spam the threads and jam them up with pointless content which happens anyway just at a more controlled rate.LOL I have lots to say and end up not being able to contribute when I want to because of the restrictions.

This makes no sense to me. A level 16 couldn't have a legitimate input to a "general discussion" thread?

SE just thinks weirdly. Between that and the AFK thing, it's like I'm dealing with an alien lifeform.
