    Improving Gamepad Targetting

There needs to be more options for the gamepad, especially keybinding for the buttons.

    Most important is L3/R3 (Analogue)

L3 (default target lock) is somewhat useful, but [B]R3[/B] (default 1st person view/sit) is completely useless. Please let us Keybind R3, or give it a special hoykey slot.

R3 can also be a great button for targeting options

I propose a expanded option of R3 using the same technique as crossbar for targeting.

Hold [down] R3 +RightAnalogue up : cycle enemy farthest
Hold [down] R3 + RightAnalogue down : cycle enemy nearest
Hold [down] R3 + RightAnalogue left : cycle enemy left
Hold [down] R3 + RightAnalogue Right : cycle enemy right

Hold [down] R3 + No direction : Focus Target

It may also be useful for PC targeting as well, but usually people can do it pretty quick using face-direction buttons up down. It's always been enemies that is a big issue

If such an option can not be done on an interface level, then alternatively L1/R1 + Right analogue up-down-left-right for enemies (I know this definitely is compatible as the ToX uses these exact inputs)

There does need to be a better targeting system with a gamepad - right now it's the one thing really ruining it for me - other than that I think it's a really innovative system. Nearly every time I die using the gamepad though it's due to crappy targeting. Also I'd like to be able to bind custom keys - for example I noticed R3 was a bit useless too - I use autorun all the time and wished I could just bind it to that. Or possibly some way to control the camera distance.

Does anyone know if the chatpad works on PS3? That may be a solution since you could bind all sorts of keys should it work like a regular keyboard - I'm actually intending on getting one for PC and binding some more useful targeting functions to it if possible. Personally I hope the PS4 version supports the touchpad on the controller and you can use that for mouse-style targeting if you're getting really frustrated.

I would use R1 for that, as I have no use for auto run (it's more confusing when I accidentally activate it). R1+ directional buttons enable additional target groups and R1 + face button can be mapped to other functions, e.g. I badly miss the target the target function on the pad (T on the keyboard) or simply target the nearest enemy (F11).

You can use joytokey program to keybind Tab(target cycle) R3. You would have to config your pc controller to not use R3 though as R3 can not be blank otherwise. There is a bug that makes you have to redo the calibration every time you start up the game sadly.

And perhaps I wasn't clear. The method I want is
simultaneously pressing R3 and analogue-R up-down-left-right (assuming that registers on a HUID level) Thus you press down on the R3 in the down position to target nearest for instance.
