


I'll agree that damage scaling post-30 hurts. The problem with relying on CC is that not all classes have them, nor is it common enough. With BLM and WHM being the only two jobs that can effectively CC, there's not much you can do if you don't have them in-group.It's not gear related. My 41 warrior has most of the gear obtainable from every instance, and he still takes a great pounding from trash mobs. Bosses are not a problem, however tanking 3+ trash mobs makes my healer spam like crazy at times. CC is the best option if you have it, I notice a great ease when mobs are slept and we can focus them down 1by1. So use them CC's and pop them cool downs.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
