I can relate to this. I have been playing summoner and I would group with my sister who is a warrior on PS3. Damage intake was just unexpectedly through the roof for bray. It is unlike any previous dungeons in this regard. All too often people start giving her a hard time saying she sucks, which she can take a bit too personally. To shut the prima donna healers up, I decided I'd do scholar from now on instead. She has gotten better as shes become more familiar with the game (and MMOs as a whole), but the PS3 thing really is a handicap that I do not see a way around. It is such a severe limitation that I have been trying to talk up some kind of mindless drone DPS class for her to consider changing to.

I would love to hear some tank tips for ps3 players. For instance, we try to turn off NPC targeting while in battle, but she continues to waste time targeting my pet.

If you feel like your getting hit for a lot of damage here, make sure you use some food and even a +vit potion on the boss fights to give you a little extra buffer. I can make a big difference if you're getting hit hard and you don't have anyone to sleep one of the adds. And make it easy on yourself, don't forget to mark the targets. That alone makes everything go so much smoother.

That\\'s another thing, I\\'ve been taking the defensive CD\\'s for granted. I really need to make more liberal use of them, especially on trash. There are far too many CD\\'s on relatively short timers not to use frequently.

I've also noticed how bad some groups can be, especially with mechanics. I'm not sure if there are a lot of inexperienced MMO'ers in ARR or if people are just lazy, but there's nice videos and explanations of all dungeons. If I haven't been to one, I at least read up on it real quick. That would help immensely is people did the same.

Brayflox Longstops, from the healer perspective, is when I noticed that damage just ramped up. Gladiator or Marauder, it seems like, "whoa!"

And crowd control has made a HUGE difference in this dungeon.

Also, there seem to be a good deal of patrols as well, which may make a two to three mob fight become a four mob fight, in which case, if crowd control is broken, someone usually dies.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Random healer and I went through 3 pairs of DPS that just wouldn't focus on bees (you can just tank them, afterall) before we both just gave up. I felt bad, because the healer thought it was his fault for being "too low-level" at 35.

This happened to me today. Got a Duty Finder for ST and my party got stuck on the first boss. I was told to improve my gear and was politely asked to leave the group by two of the members and cursed out by the fourth member of the party. On one attempt, I totally messed up with the Doom counter. On every other attempt (~5 or 6 other tries), our DPS simply couldn't kill bees fast enough to prevent Final Sting from one-shotting me. Eventually I just nodded in agreement when I was told I sucked and excused myself from the party.

yeah, earlier today, I got my ass beat in brayflox so badly that I actually lost motivation IRL. I got better. now I'm farming fates for seals to grab every piece of gear that being a storm sergeant will give me access to, since my dungeon loot luck is... well terrible at best. I've gotten 1 drop and that was in sastasha. probably going to grab the 34 gear since the longstop syncs to 34, so that's the statistical best I can bring. and fate-tanking is always fun.

I will show this game why if you kick a warrior in the gut you better be sure they're dead and not just waiting for the C/D on bloodshower.

CC is the best option if you have it, I notice a great ease when mobs are slept and we can focus them down 1by1. So use them CC's and pop them cool downs.
I'll agree that damage scaling post-30 hurts. The problem with relying on CC is that not all classes have them, nor is it common enough. With BLM and WHM being the only two jobs that can effectively CC, there's not much you can do if you don't have them in-group.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

This. I ran Brayflox yesterday for the first time and as all of you pointed out, damage on trash packs was nothing like the previous instances. I realized quickly that I was going to need to keep cycling the defensive cooldowns or else the WHM would hate me a lot. What a fun run it was.

Ran Brayflox about 3 times last night as well. Super fun. Mobs do hit harder, and CC really helps. I need more defensive cooldowns.
