Dargoth,
I totally get what you are saying. But here is my point, I understand some people have less than an hour to play, which is fine I am not saying that cannot play. Instead, I am saying that it may not be the most appropriate game for them. Look at how many hours it took for you to get all your jobs, now break that up into 1 hour or less a day, you'll make progress but not much and you cannot actually enjoy all aspects of the game world.
Here in lies the other problem is the community and the very split perspectives we are seeing on the forums. We have two sides the "casual" vs "hardcore". One side is time limited and wants events and content they can do in an hour or less, and the other is the polar opposite. Now take content development if the over all content is developed say primarily for those with very little time on their hands say 1-1.5 hours and you have oodles of content aimed at 30-45 minutes per event. You can fill that and the person with less time will take a while to get through this content plus the time needed to level into the content.
now let's look at the other side of the player base which right now in the current state of the game has only one real activity grinding and mid level nm's and the four high level ones.
Se's task here is to now figure out which group to make more content for. The gamer with oodles of time to play and spend in the world that will in the long run unsub less and play through the games whole life, or the time limited player who wants to play but can;t but also has other video game and life priorities.
That was the point to the OP if they have an hour or less to play then, this style of game may not be best suited for them. i would never tell someone to leave, because i disagree with them. I do how ever think right now there are too many elements within this game and coming into the game that are too rewarding and too easy meaning players over all will get bored quickly.
