    2hr Abilites (Yes Please!)? or (No Thanks!)?

    2hr abilities in XI were basically a special move that your job was given from the beginning. The benefits from the ability were so great that it took 2 hours before you could use it again. I am personally for a 2hr it wil help distinguish classes better. But I wanna know what every one thinks about it. So YES if you agree, and if NO explain why?

    I am absolutely for abilities to distinguish classes, but they don't need to have 2hr timers. Maybe 10-20 minutes if the ability is that super good, anything more than that is not necessary.

    Best part of two hours imo was.

    The strategy for long hard fights in FFXI had players 2 hrs in the mix. They kind of rounded the fight out to make it more easier or just possible to win. Even some 2 hrs are game savers, to a win which could of been a full wipe.

    I think over time we can see this happening in FFXIV once more content and lvl cap raises or of some sort. I'm sure we will get some sort of crazy ability//skill for each class.

    So YES I would like to see this in FFXIV. {Yes Please} ^_^

    Thank you for typing that so I don't. I liked how two-hours added strategy to boss fights and such. Something this game sorely lacks.

    No. 2hr abilities(most) were for the most part useless. All were extremely underpowered for an ability that is on a 2hr cooldown. To actually have an ability thats on a 2hr cooldown and be worth it most would then say "Its too overpowered!"

    I would prefer each job(when they are added) getting a 30min cd ability that is actually useful.

    edit: They also lasted about 20 seconds? 30 at most for some jobs. It was a horrible way to implement an ability overall. In the end they just were used for brief fun every 2hrs.

    Being invincible for 30 seconds wasn't useful? Doing 5 minutes worth of attacks in 30 seconds wasn't useful? Completely healing your entire party wasn't useful?

    They all were underpowered for a 2hr cd. PLD, WHM, MNK had the best 2hr in the game. However for an ability that took 2hrs just to use again they were still underpowered. Hell give them an hr cd at most but the rest lacked a lot.
    BLU, RDM, DRG, DRK, BST, RNG, NIN, SCH, DNC, and PUP may not have been completely useless(with certain ones effectiveness ranging) but not very amazing for something you had to wait 2hrs for.

    I have rarely seen people use those jobs abilities to some grand degree. Most of the time they were used just for fun.

    2hr abilities weren't for lolrape moments every 15 minutes. They're meant to save your ass in a tight spot.

    A tight spot that rarely happened and even then few were useful if you're party linked mobs they couldn't handle. Which most of the time that was the case if you were in a bind.

    Something that takes as long as 2hrs to do needs to at least be worth waiting 2hrs for.

    RDM however were great if he/she survived to raise the parties failed "2hr now!" shouts. Rarely did a party 2hr and everything worked perfect unless you had SAMs, PLD, and MAYBE MNK(if mnk had good acc).
    WHM gave you that extra boost to live while running unless the mobs were already low on hp.
