Try going into graphic settings and set everything to default. relaunch. see if anything is better/worse. then adjust from there.
Looks like you're missing the font. Have you fiddled with any fonts lately?
Didn't touch anything, yesterday I was playing and everything was fine, i alt tab to windows come back and surprise, bug happens and since did not go off.

Restarted PC?
The issue didn't resolve itself after restarting the game?
try moving C:\Users\[Your account name]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\FFXIV.cfg
file to a different place and restarting the client. You will have to re watch that long mandatory intro again but should clear out any bad settings.

What ever this is, I found on another personn with the same problem and it seemed like the problem was linked to nameplate, did not find the answer yet but still, I don't know what to do, but I do hope that the upcomming maj is going to clear this.
