    Field & RP abilities/spells

    There are very few of them already (like stoneskin, sleep or sprint -for DoL though-) but i would like to see more of these in the future. I miss some FF11 "field" spells" like Invisibility, Deodorize and Sneak. And i think it'd be nice to have those kind of spells/abilities again, along with new others (from other FFs too). Some ideas,

    Spells
    - float (evades enemy ground-attacks in combat)
    - charme / confuse
    - frog
    - warp (caster/party return at entrance of a dungeon)
    - magic unlock (doors and chests)
    - magic light (illuminates, in a range, darker places -this implies that some parts of dungeons or particular places could be very dark and they could add this kind of gameplay in some occasions-)
    - firewall (useful in dungeons)
    - fear


    Abilities
    - camouflage
    - move silently
    - lock picking
    - disarm/arm traps
    - steal money (steals gils only) / mug (steals items only)
    - ride (increases the speed on a mount for a limited time)


    And.. when that energy-wall spell we can see in the Limsa intro will be implemented?

    I agree with most of this except steal gil since you can either make it useless or an rmt wet dream.

    Maybe you are right about that.

    Btw, i'd add also that spells like fire/ice/stone could be used for other uses, like to light a torch/bracer or to melt an icy blocked passage or to solve riddles in dungeons. I mean, more interactivity (on enviroment) with spells and not only to attack enemies.

    These are some good ideas, except the stealing of course... But these are awhile away from being implemented for sure (if they agree to implement them). Keep the good posts coming...

    munba, love the idea of using abilities to solve puzzles, reminds me of the switches in garlaige citadel that required a mage of each type to stand on them to open the door.

    They shouldn't design the game around RMT exploits. It's going to happen regardless - the best they can do is give us a fun gaming experience while taking care of bots as efficiently as possible. But game experience should always come first.

    I honestly hope Sneak never gets implemented into this game, I wouldn't mind invisibility but always having to worry about being seen or heard in FFXI was the most annoying thing to me. (if that is what you meant by move silent)

    Shout be Horototo Runins =]
    Citadel has another3 gates need 4 people to operate.
    Also the "weighted" switch in Quicksand need one Galka, 2 normal weighted or 3 tarutaru to operate.

    I really like OP's idea,
    These kind of little puzzle will strong boost the sense of adventuring, I believe

    Those trio spells were to avoid monsters depending on their aggro method and i think that system gives a bit of thrill, i liked.

    When I played FFXI, I thought that running around monsters that would only attack me if they smelled me was ridiculous.

    I smell wonderful. I can't imagine why anything would want to cause me harm.
