The 1017 Boss Battle - walkthrough.

Hey guys many of you wanted to know how to defeat this one. It's tricky very tricky.

First Phase:

Clicking Start, I know I know this can be tiresome as sometimes you get no further and get sent straight back to the start of the instance. As the boss doesn't appear.

But let's say it does. Let's say you make it to phase 2.

You reach phase 2.

You have clicked your character your getting excited to do battle, wait... sent back to the start "Server is full" man I've never wiped that fast in my life ever. Look it's ok we will get it next time. Buff up use your food let's go again.

Back to phase 1.

Clicked Start YES! I see the servers.
Clicked on your character you wish to play,
OMFG 6 hours later I've made the queue and I'm only 87th in LINE we can do this. Click fast heal me HEAL ME.

Wait .... whats this...??? DA FK!>?

But... I thought I was in queue and waiting to login...

... whopps I had "Aspect of the Cheater on" Stun fail.

Server is full - back to phase 1.

As we know from FFXI, all bosses become easier over time, so if you're really stuck, here's an easy way out >> come back in a a year's time and you will (hopefully) find logging in a breeze!

Im a noob and some how I was able to bypass these steps last night, made it to lvl 4 before i was hit with tiredness, I fainted and now 1017 has come back stronger. RATS

The 1017 boss needs to be nerfed, way over powered

I'm sure it will be nerfed in the next patch, and one day we'll be telling tales of the secret mega boss of FFXIV "1017" to future generations, the one that brought 200,000 brave adventurers to their knees

You forgot to se your limit break! Duh!

The first few screens are fairly easy. I just sit there and they automatically transition to the next ones.

(*SPOILER*) However on the start, character selection and 1017 screens, what I found is it's actually more effective to use the gamepad. You can literally just tap (Y) or (/\) (if you're on a PS3) because the correct options are the default ones.

So... If you grab some popcorn you can literally watch a movie or other show while you spam the (Y) or (/\) button. The only catch is you've got to identify when it gets to the "Server is full. You are #157 in the queue. [Cancel]" screen.

However this screen takes you back to character selection if you cancel so upon noticing this, you just need to expect this screen to pop up again round trip or stop spamming (Y) or (/\) at just the right time.

With the proper timing you will catch that and you will get past the screen.

I think a lot of people didn't realize that this was actually the game when they ordered it.

(EDIT: I switched my (A) and (Y) keys so your steps may be different. Figure it out.)
