Unable to hear voice-acting

I'm lvl 47 now and finished Garuda in the main story. I have not heard one voice acting throughout my entire game including the opening cinematic. I am able to hear all other sounds except the voice-acting for example I can hear clapping or laughing in cut-scenes but words are completely devoid.

edit: i'm on windows 7 if that makes a difference

edit #2: i looked around and saw that some guy changed his sound settings from 5.1 surround to 2.1 it seems that fixed the issue.

however what is the problem with not hearing voiceacting in surround mode 5.1 or 7.1 or quadraphonic. i had to use stereo. from the sounds->configure option

Well that is because there is no voice acting. Just reading.

i suggest if you dont have 5.1 7.1 then dont put the settings to that,

make sure your settings in the Sound options for Windows Sound "playback devices" is set to the proper speaker config of what you have.

This may sound kind of textbook, but check you got the plugs for the speakers in the right ports.

Yeah, randomly some story quests do have voice acting, while others don't, its bizzare.

I still can't stand people saying there's no Voice Acting .. it was mentioned it will be added in the Main Story..

I have the same problem, was the setting you guys made from the game itself? or somewhere within Control Panel?
