You're at a low level, wait till you're higher, plus get some skills from other classes, mainly Marauder/Conjurer since Paladins can take some skills from them. We do have a combo pattern but it's not that boring. If you really want flashy, I do recommend another class.
I think I should have chosen Marauder. I went with the Gladiator because of the big, bulky swords it promised. Nothing so far though. Just daggers & wooden bats.
