If what you want were to happen, then I could buy 1 game give it to 1million friends and they could ALL have their own profiles and play at the same time... tell me. what company would go for such a business model, pretty nice gimmick to bankrupt the company and prevent you from ever playing a game again (since any company that did that would be gone)

The Playstation is a shared household device. It has a single account on it, all I can say is thank god I did make her a Playstation network account. Yes I made the account! Because she has to use my credit card to pay for the SUBSCRIPTION! She is a minor! So therefore I am sole the reasonability of the account!

Which takes me to my next point

I am not buying a game that is single player! If it was, then your point would be valid! You would need to buy it for any device you want to play it on! The fact it’s a subscription based game, it should in theory be accessible from any device which has the game installed, because it would have been paid for! AND MY ACCOUNT DATA IS STORED IN THE "CLOUD" not on a single device!

Yes you can create roaming profiles, let me guess, you can access it from any device that supports the profile type. EG, Windows 7 Domain Profile that roams with you to another computer connected to the same network. Well done! Congrats! Now trying doing that with 20GB of data installed. Enjoy your long login time.

Here are some examples of where the content is free or charged at 1 off, In return you just pay a subscription to access it on any device that it is supported on.
    • Eve Online – Longest subscription game ever! Free to download, Just pay for subscription
    • WoW – Login to any device with the game installed, Just use your account details.
    • Guild Wars 2 – Can access your account data on device that has the game installed!
    • Office 365! Can access your data from any supported device, guess what! Its subscription based!
My dig is not at you, your first comment was helpful, the rest was pointless! I’m just surprised that a subscription based game where all data is stored within the “cloud” is so restricted.

I played Eve for years, again you are required by TOS to have one log in per user, same for WoW (which i also played for many years)and same with the others, in the case of FF and PSN its ONE shared user account per person the ps3 is not and never has been intended for shared PSN access, you can look it up if you doubt me. and though that's never stopped anyone there are PSN games that require separate PSN id's for different accounts (in direct contrast to your point). and you seriously let your minor use your account? no parental controls? they have to tell everyone they meet this is their parents account? i can see some advantages in that (not having to look far to see what they are up to), but that doesn't make your PSN a shared experience and PSN TOS does prohibit others from using your account. in fact sony has gone so far as to ban people over hacked accounts claiming that they allowed someone to get the password which is against TOS

I was on PSN network for 10 years and have seen this stuff many times

and sorry if i sound grumpy im not mad at you or anything. I just have a different perspective i suppose

edit- and yes its nice when you can log onto any system to play your game as long as you're using your ID and password.... which you can log into a friends play station using the account the game is tied to, download the game and log in and play it it'll work (your PSN ID is whats linked to the SE account log in from the same PSN id anywhere and its works) (limit one PSN id per user *small print- just a joke*
