Players dropping out of dungeons when you don't play their way...

So last night I finally got to Brayflox! I was stoked to get in and see a new dungeon that was to be more challenging, and what happens.... A Bard wanted to be the boss over our tank, seriously? He was telling the tank to only focus on the mob he marked and leave the rest to the DPS (me). Unless I am mistaken..., a tank is supposed to pull all the mobs. Which makes it easy for me, a monk, to run my rotations. But no... I have to run around like a nut case chasing mobs trying to attack them.
So after the first boss, the tank doesn't go to the NPC Goblins the exact way the Bard wants.... the SOB ups and rage quits.

Now grant it, this was my (and the tanks) first go at Brayflox, but we are not complete newbies. The tank, whom I know, is learning to play better and better. I know my role. The healer was great. The Bard, yeah, sorry SOB!

Sounds like the guy was just a massive douchebag. Sorry to hear that your first time in that dungeon was bad, I quite enjoyed that one myself as a healer. Thankfully I haven't personally seen that many people like that so far in FFXIV so don't think this is the norm, just a random guy who wanted to be a tosser.

I agree, sounds entirely like Bard player was/is a complete tool. In most cases you are better off without players like that in your group anyway. Hopefully people like him/her will be in the minority and remain that way.

only leave I had was a healer that didn't heal any of us, so I told her/him to stop being lazy and got the reply "you got no idea how my class is to play so STFU" I then said that I know exactly how to play conjurer since I got a lvl 36 WHM and then he/she left (was in the second instance btw)

The only time I get ticked as a WHM in Brayflox is when a tank shows up as a class (MAR/GLD) with lv25 grey gear or lower. They don't tank any better than me at that point with paper armor. Typically they pull, get hate, down to 1/3 life after the first round of hits, I cure, boom I'm tank for rest of the fight. Needless to say bosses go nowhere. When I get tanks like that I kindly ask them to go get their Job counterpart at least, which gives them at the very least more HP, and I swear a hell of an easier time holding hate (internal enmity+?)

You have people stay in your dungeons long enough to at least be douchebags? Most runs duty finder puts me in have people that just go "oh, no BLM? /leave"

Which level is Brayflox? Just making sure I have proper gear as a tank before I hit that. I'm still learning, but I want to make sure I get better as I go.

Just want to tell people healing is such an easy as fuck job in early levels.
That was a lame ass excuse. I play on PS3 and have fun healing 2 people with poison and heal them and all that stuff, it's pretty fun and gives you something new to rather than spam heal.
Kick the guy and get a new DPS haha.

I've had only one person leave on me, with no explanation, but I've run into PLENTY of douchebags.
I've left an instance twice. Once because the healer refused to heal me (Kind of makes it hard to tank.), and once on Ifrit, because I explained the nail mechanic to the party before combat, then when it appeared I marked it "1" and repeatedly told the party to attack it, only to have everyone just keep on going at ifrit... twice... in a row.
I will leave an instance ONLY if a party is uncooperative in such a way that completing the instance is not possible... or possibly if they are just extremely rude and offensive.

That being said, I've been lucky I guess and run into far more cooperative, helpful, and friendly players than the... other type.
