After I registered the pre-play code, it gave me a second code that's in a different format. I then entered this second code into MogStation "Bonus items code registration" to get the 2 items.
So if you gave your friend the pre-play code and he registered it, better find out from him what the bonus item code is (and hope he hasn't used it already lol)
