/sigh I miss the days when you either just had a chocobo or a goobbue. Damn kids and their couerls and ahrimans and unicorns and sleipners and magitek armors...
Seriously, there are so many mounts in this I really have no idea why people are so grumpy about wanting a mount that was only available to those who bothered to get it at the time. Goobbue-riding master race ftw. (jk of course)

but I don't get why anyone strongly needs for this to remain an exclusive thing. Does it really make you feel that special? Will it truly harm you if new players are able to get it? If so, you've got more to worry about than whether or not Gobbue mounts are ever attainable again :P

No, I wouldn't really care, but there was official in-game lore that said it would never be available again. Not to mention the notice on the lodestone that was up for months and months saying 'GET YOUR GOOBBUE MOUNT BEFORE X DATE BECAUSE IT WILL NEVER BE AVAILABLE AGAIN!!!!'
Again, there are so many mounts... this is just a case of entitlement and a gimme gimme attitude.

I don't see the OP 'whining' as is suggested in the responses.

Different opinion != whining/fanboying/white knighting/trolling/etc.

I'd suggest those people that use those terms when describing any post that differs in opinion to look at themselves, as you're acting ridiculously.

People aren't against this because they're greedy or don't want you to have what we have. We're against it because it would mean Squeenix is going back on their word, and that sets a bad precedent.

The Goobbue mount was part of a campaign to get 1.0 players back into subscribing, supporting, and playing the game. It was advertised as a special gift for pre-2.0 players and you have to "subscribe now" for this "one time only" chance. Everything about the Gobbue mount was about pre-2.0 players and giving Squeenix more money for a flawed game.

If they started making it available now, then that incentive campaign retroactively turns into a scam. Lying to the playerbase to get more money, is that really what you want the devs to do?

Why do people have such a hard time grasping very specific rules? No, event items aren't given again. They are proof you were there.

You can only get the xmass outfit from other players atm, by the way. This year we get the snowman outfit as it's been seen online.

I find it ridiculous for people to insist on Yoshi to go back on his word... put it simply, my Gobbue mount is more special because there's a limited number of them. Yep.

Aside from being limited and exclusive content, there was a reason lore wise. The art of beast taming is a secret, and perhaps if they ever bring back the people who unlocked the secret, they may teach the technique again (or at least a different goobbue type; might be a good exclusive mount for beastmasters).

Though as a whole, there were emails, site updates and letters from the producers claiming this was an exclusive mount only available up to patch 1.23a back in July of 2012 or so. There is no disputing written guarantees years past, especially with the precedence as stands with exclusive meaning exclusive. This is the honest and cited truth of the matter at hand.
