Please fix hair clipping on armor.

Certain pieces of armor with certain hairstyles (mainly long hair styles) end up clipping and it ends up looking really shoddy and is generally just not pleasant to look at. I am submitting this topic in hopes that Square Enix will acknowledge the issue and possibly add a fix (such as making long hair display differently - IE a ponytail etc) so that players like myself don't have to change our hair style just to deal with it.

Attached are a few examples of what this looks like in game. It's pretty obvious and hard to miss.

I can tell you from a technical standpoint that this would be really hard to do. For an MMO, they are optimized and limited in what they can do. The graphical requirements for more natural hair far exceed what they can do. The little fixes they have for these issues is pulling the hair up into other styles when certain armor is equipped but if you're like me you don't like that much because it isn't the style you chose. It's just something that's going to happen no matter once. Unless they put TressFX in this game, lol.

Oh man that is bad... lol. I made sure my character didn't have long hair to avoid this issue. Unfortunately male miqo'te tails still have clipping on certain armor and shields tho. =[

I spent a lot of my time creating mods for FFXI. Hair clipping is a very hard thing to fix. If they were to fix this... they would either have to get rid of the longer hair models (why do you think most of them in ffxi were so short) or adjust the model skeletons. They would need to add more bones for just the hair. Adding more bones to the skeletons = bigger files. They greatly reduced the model files from 1.0... its highly unlikely they would do something to fix the clipping.

I'm aware that it might not be easy to fix, but it is still a problem that I think they can do something about.

It is painful that my little Lalafell looks so bad with this haircut and the robe. The option to have the hood up graphically to at least cover the hair would be a nice alternative.

Or the option to change our hairstyles. Like potions of fantasia we can purchase, just for the hair.

It's not gamebreaking or anything, but it is distracting and makes me a sad lala.

I was trying some hairstyles the other day just incase I decide to use the Fantasia and switch to a Lalafell and I noticed the hair clippings too. Even short hairstyles for male Lalafells have clipping on the headgears for both Paladin and Summoner. It's kinda distracting.

Barbershop will be out 2.1. I'd suggest saving those fantasia for a race or gender change since hair changes will be an in game service bought with gil.
