JP Server Access

I am starting to notice a trend. the JP server list wont populate most of the time. I think its in order to keep JP servers uncongested while the rest of us are left fighting for scraps.

For those who created a character on the JP servers specifically to get around congestion I guess it serves you right. but i created my character when FFXIV originally came out I don't remember there being a difference between US and JP servers. when I reactivated it through ARR I found out I'm on a JP server and now I cant access my character most of the time. Like right now, all US servers are avalable but the JP list wont even populate.

I am trying very hard not to curse in this post so just imagine me screaming profanities at the computer.

No, it's just a crap shoot. Sometimes I can load JP but not NA/EU, and sometimes I can load NA/EU but not JP. Day 1, I could load both. Today, I could load neither because 2002.

Yes, the JP servers are more stable, but the game isn't actively trying to keep us out of them.

Hopefully this world transfer service will come up sooner rather than later so I can get to a server where I actually know people.

I just created an account on this site to post this tread, I just realized that it pulled my character data in order to do so. If it is indiscriminate and they are not keeping us out of their servers then how is it that this site can pull live data from the JP servers and yet I cant even populate the list of servers? SE is doing this on purpose.

You sound kind of paranoid there bro. It live updates the NA/EU characters too. My guy didn't have that goofy bandit mask before last night.

The servers are just broken all around. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, but they're not deleting your data. All of your character information is still stored there. Just because YOU can't load JP servers doesn't mean that no one else can. In fact, JP servers load for me 3x more often than NA/EU.

I just proved it. I connected to FFXIV through a VPN in Amsterdam and the JP servers populated. Then I disconnected and the JP server list went away. Then I reconnected to the VPN and the JP servers came back.

Nah JP servers are also is fucked in the anal canal, no lube or condom.
No list sometimes, then NA/EU pops, and then all their servers are full to.
I try to make a char on Alexander and could, but then couldn't log in.
I said screw it till there's a fix.

With emergency maintenance going on with JP servers its probably not the best time to make a conclusion so ill wait till they are all up and running again then do the same test.

Well if you think like that there's no point trying to explain it to you, you're intent on being a victim: facts tell you otherwise, the NA/EU server list is also often MIA but you'll not mention that as it doesn't support your agenda.

I'll just say this: the JP servers are just as congested, they have a massive 90000 error problem like 'we' did days ago.
