Deleted old character to make a new one, now it says the oldcharacter is still there?

A friend of mine is in this predicament and too frustrated to ask. Has anyone else ran into this? Our understanding was if you deleted your old character you could still make a new one in the same world, even with server restrictions.

Any ideas or help?

Also, he switched because he hated the race he chose, we were fully aware he could level all jobs, etc...

I got you covered, maybe, first off log out completely, close all clients etc. Then relog.

Go see if the toon is really deleted, if not, go delete it - but DO NOT SPAM THE BUTTON to make it faster. I did that and it didn't delete either, when its at like 3- stop pressing it and let it count down like normal. Then press.

Wait for it to refresh, then it should be deleted.

DO NOT LEAVE after deleted though - or it may not let you make a new one.


after your made, Id delete all but the one you really want, off all servers, just to help with the "char congestion" BS going on.

Character is gone, non-existent, but it gives a 3035 error, which seems to mean you cannot make a new character on a server in which you have one already? If only they had available tech support. /sigh

The game is like an overly attached ex, it just can't seem to let go.

prolly have to wait til Maint then for clearing up. which sucks. SE really dropped the ball on this one... I mean.. the game is almost solid - but the Servers/hardware and features are trash.

I hope that clears it up. It seems to have nothing to do with server restrictions, but an internal error in which the toon is still registered on the server?
