Race/Name Change And Server Migration

I saw this topic popping up in couple other threads so I thought it might be a good thing to discuss. Do you think that it would be a good idea to add these options to the game? I think if they made them cost money or crysta it would be a good way for SE to make a little money on the side. Some people (like myself) might like the option to change their name or even their race for maybe like $10 for name change, $15-$20 for a race change and $20 for sever migration and then maybe limit it to only be able to change once a month or something. Also with the possible addition of the missing genders (male miqote and female roegadyn) at the ps3 release i think it might be a good idea to let people who have been playing for a while to have the option to change to one of the new races so they dont have to start from scratch and lose all of their levels and gil/items.

P.S. - I am in no way asking for this now or anytime soon, i just think it may be a good feature to add sometime in the future.

server migration shouldn't be allow in near future or everyone will move to Besaid or Lindblum...

lol well when the ps3 version is released I think all of the sever populations will even out a little better.

The reason I do like server migration is because of some scenerios such as: Your friends begin to leave, LS slowly decrease but you have friends on your favourite forum who are all on another server, you wish you could go play with them, and server migrations help this. Sadly Automatic ones dont land you on your fave server.

There is always the deal of "he'll steal things then leave and no one will know", that already happens now and people forget after like a month so its no big deal at all. Its not like you need a LS to do anything anymore (and seems that way in future). So your reputation is only as useful as your ego.

The name thing can be changed by force anyway as seen in XI many times, but that did require server hop or deletion.

I would support these tbh I dont see any draw backs other than peeps being paranoid.

Sounds good to me. Heck, I'd even be happy with being able to tweak my character for a price, not just the much-desired hair cuts. Like, my character's eyes look terribly lifeless and dull in-game while they looked great in the maker. I'd change this in a heartbeat.

I would love server transfers uner the 90day rule like ffxi. Getting stalked in a video game sucks, and is hard to prove. So being able to switch servers in such cases would help.

And before ppl bring up thr blist thing, there are ways around it such as rerolling, alts and alt rerolling.

I'd like to see a race/name change option added. I don't want to see server migrations come up as an option, but I do believe all the players who have already bought and paid for the game should be awarded one free server merger since a lot of players got separated during launch.

I would be 100% okay with these options, in fact I fully support and look forward to them. SE needs a way to make a little extra money off this game, even after they start charging considering how many pay periods have gone by without a single cent to show for it. Also with the impending addition of missing race/gender options (hopefully) by PS3 launch it would be incredibly unfair of them not to allow the loyal players who kept the game alive up until then to change such things.

As far as transfers and merges, I believe they should wait until after PS3 launch to even start considering it. Merge servers first, then allow all players 1 free move and after that charge for transfers.

These are the kinds of things that micro-transactions should be used for. As long as they don't start adding crap I've seen in other games like SP/XP gain items and the like it will be fine.
