    If you where in a real ls w/ skilled players that took care of there members none of that talk woulda never happened. MY ls did everything w/ every job. I did salvage on freaking PUP and owned it. FF11 was all about skill then gear. No job was truely bad if you where a good player.

    There is no Musketeer's guild in Limsa anymore. The calamity destroyed it apparently. The 1.0 bureaucrats and military peoples that were there are in the Marauder's guild now.

    I'd really like to see Ninja. <3'd it in XI. I don't care if it's a tank or DD, both roles were fun. It would be interesting how they'd implement something like Utsusemi now. The 'theory' behind Utsusemi was kind of like that clone thing Naruto does. Nowadays, instead of just having an icon saying there's 3 more of you somewhere, they could actually visually add those 3. Whether they'd be used for tanking(similar to XI), or DD(say the ability decreases your individual damage by 50% but adds 2 clones each doing damage and echoing your abilities). Either way it'd be interesting. ;o

    It's still there. The Coral Tower now houses both Marauder and Musketeer guilds. Which is why their emblem over the door is an axe and gun, and why on the lower level you see some people practicing with guns.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

    As far as predictions, I think it will go something like Musketeer (in game lore and guild, LL needs a 3rd class), Thief (Rogue element missing), and a new tank of some kind (possibly evasion/parry based, ie SAM). Some have said that the game is too limiting to allow certain things, even the idea of a class branching into 2 different roles, but look at Arcanist, it already proves that wrong. Keep the faith!

    I've posted this a few times, but here's my long term dream/anticipation list for classes and jobs (will include current system for reference):

    • GLA > PLD, ENF (Enforcer - DPS - Morningstar, traits convert enmity bonuses into status, this weapon type extends for very long range melee attacks)
    • MRD > WAR, DRK (Dark Knight - DPS - Great Sword, traits convert enmity bonuses into drain effects, enhances damage with dark magic)
    • PGL > MNK, PUP (Puppetmaster - Hybrid (depends on automaton) - Knuckles, styled like FFXI)
    • LNC > DRG, CHK (Chocobo Knight - Tank - Lance, equips shields, can either ride a Chocobo during battle or summon one like a pet)
    • ARC > BRD, BST (Beastmaster - DPS - Crossbow and 1H axe offhand, similar to BRD, sacrifices 20% damage output to summon/charm monsters)
    • THM > BLM, NEC (Necromancer - DPS - THM staves only, trades BLM upgrade spells for undead pets, can also charm them, various drain powers)
    • CNJ > WHM, GEO (Geomancer - Healer/Support - CNJ staves only, trades WHM heals for more buffs, like Granite/Diamondskin, various spikes type spells, haste, and stage/weather based powers like temporary walls or CC)
    • ACN > SMN, SCH (unchanged)

    New Stuff
    • Musketeer > Pirate(Muskets, scimitar offhand - Ranged DPS, threat mgmt), ???
    • Rogue (Disciple of Deception) > THF (Thief - DPS - Daggers, Threat mgmt), DNC (Dancer - DPS/Frontline Healer/Buffs - Daggers)
    • Fencer > RDM (Red Mage - DPS/Frontline Support - Rapiers), BLU (Blue Mage - DPS/Frontline Support - Scimitars) - both use Limited Action Sets
    • Ronin (or some Far East disciple) > NIN (Ninja - DPS - dual wield Katanas, Threat mgmt), SAM (Samurai - Parry Tank - Great Katana)

    4 casters right now and 4 melee. I think what u may have read was something outdated. infact there is more range dps than there is melee atm. The nextt class that should be added logically is Thief or ninja because there is a serious lack of that archetype atm and i cant think of a single decently know mmo without a thief type..

    something i've been thinking about is how awesome it would be if they decided to branch THF off of GLD. THF uses daggers and swords traditionally, and GLD already has that covered. furthermore, in some games they also have the capacity to use certain shields. making the THF either an evade tank, or having its soul crystal retool GLD abilities to be more damage oriented would be neat.

    I'd love to see the concept of Fencer > Red Mage implemented that people suggested before. If they dropped rapiers and other dueling weapons in the game as their main and actually gave them some use I'd be absolutely in love. In fact, in the system of FFXIV an en-spell / temper RDM concept could actually work without being garbage. You know what though? I'm entirely okay if we just ended up being enfeeblers again so long as we could actually enfeeble at end game and not just be reduced to Refresh Whores. Which we aren't even needed for. In XI now, the only reason to lvl RDM is to sub it to SCH. Just hope we get better treatment here.

    P.S: Or, set it up so we're a backrow caster that can dual wield shields ala FF3. Only because I find that hilarious.

    actually recently yoshi-p have said that the game was lacking a scout class, thief/ninja fill this slot.
    thief as class and ninja as jobs that gain acces to the ninjutsu spell.

    other point a samurai is not a tank, by definition it's a offensive role, it's accurate, technical and deadly.
    a tank based on evade will not solve the trouble, it will be like the warrior, if this tank take a hit, he will almost die. and if you make it evade all that will be overpowered.

    ps: i think dancer can be a really nice second jobs for the pugilist, when you become dancer all your fist attack turn to be foot attack
