Problem is that if they restart everyone who is currently playing gets booted. These people all rush to relog. This places immense server strain, some servers probably end up having severe issues. Now it takes many hours longer than it would've for the World to re-open and run stable.

This is why they won't do it.

Most of my friends and I haven't been able to log in at all for 3 days... which is fair enough, shite happens and we are awaiting the fix tomorrow.

but seriously, all the selfish AFKers are ruining the launch for a lot of players. Blows me away how inconsiderate people can be over a video game, extremely childish mentality.

Breaking the servers AGAIN is not better than half the server being afk, as atleast half the server is playing. If you break the servers, no one plays.

Anti-AFK macro. They're using one to log in, not hard to just leave it running and beat most AFK detection systems. Simply put, any fix is easily circumvented within minutes of implementation or risks breaking their servers.
