I never liked being a healer, too much responsibility, I would do it when it didnt matter in other games but during hard core content were deaths meant wasting everyone's time I will stick to beating on things with weapons.

I sometimes regret having Warrior as my first job to 50.
Especially when the game is young and many 50s are unfamiliar with the fight mechanics of 50 instances (myself included), I do fondly recall those times in WoW when I could queue as a damage dealer (through dual spec) to get a feel of the fight first before trying to tank it.
The queue times are fantastic, but the initial learning curve of new dungeons can be daunting. Perhaps I should have leveled an Arcanist first, being able to switch between a damage dealer and healer is pretty awesome.
Right now, I am leveling a Bard for this very purpose. Thanks to FATE grinds, hopefully he too would be 50 soon.
I love healing. And I think a lot of people on Balmung must as well also. I had to wait over 30 minutes on a dungeon with my WHM! :P
Someone has to take up the job. People are right when they say it is the most thankless, unforgiving and brutal. If something goes wrong you're automatically the blame. There's a debatable saying but its what I understand.
"Dps dies to avoidable damage. Its their fault."
"Dps dies because a mob wasn't picked up quick enough its the tanks fault."
"Dps dies because of unavoidable damage its the healers fault."
"Healer dies because a mob wasn't picked up fast enough (unless untankable), it was the tanks fault (dps otherwise)."
"Healer dies to unavoidable damage its their fault."
"Tank dies because of enrage its the dps' fault."
"Tank dies to avoidable damage its their fault."
"Tank dies to unavoidable damage its the healer's fault."
Lots of "Ifs" and they can happen. Most playing dps think this isn't true.
Its painful but someone has to do it. WHM/CNJ/SCH forever~
