World of Warcraft's launch was much worse and they had a pretty good run until it was time for WotLK to come out.I've gotten a queue 6 times in the last hour.
Of course, the queue is effing useless when you get loading screen for 20sec, then error 10102; Connection to server lost.
SE should be ashamed. Never thought they could look as bad as EA but now, a week into release, and I've only been able to connect twice....This is officially a far worse launch than anything I can remember.

They're not implementing a full queue system because the don't WANT you to know how many people are locked out of the servers. When you got into a queue on your first try and were in spot 4385, you'd be able to tell just how TERRIBLE their initial server set up was laid out.
Basically, they set each server to a max of 5000 people, then they let 20,000 people create characters on each server. They don't want you to know that, so they max the que at 250 and let everyone else mash their 0 keys for hours at a time.
if that was the case they could have implemented a normal queue system and just had it lie about your position in queue (say 400 when it meant 4000, lol), but i doubt that its just their way of hiding issues.
coulda swore somewhere i read it was 8000 not 5000
the Q seems to have a limit of around 200, I ve seen 191 as my highest, but when 1,000+ people try to log in, the Q is pointless and won't function at all.
I was once, Q 21. Sat there.. and it instantly went to "World Full"
its just too many toons on each server, and too many staying logged in when AFK.
