Oceanic server

I'm on Tonberry. I love it over playing on the NA servers (which I did in Beta 3), the lag is so much better. The community is great on Tonberry, and there's plenty of English and JP people.
Unfortunately I believe Tonberry is denying new characters for the foreseeable future.

I'm on TONBERRY, all the usual issues and log in problems are here too. I had 5 friends who bought FF to get on Ton in early access. Within 1 minute of launch the server was packed. I think more than loggin issues people are not happy because all their friends are spread everywhere across the servers. Unfortunately Aussies are spread out everywhere now just trying to get some game time in on any server.

I dont have any problems running out of aoe effects, based in Australia here as well.

"Borderline unplayable" doesn't remotely describe it. For me everything is fluid and instant; no rubberbanding or skill delays. Perhaps you should get a new isp.

I'm on Tonberry with a few friends, although many others were not so quick in getting in . Is it worth it separating from friends, probably no...but how are we able to find a server to be confident in a decent oceanic population is probably a question for many given the current server status.
What would really help is at least have a OFFICIAL OCEANIC FORUM, so that we may have a place to discuss and determine a new server for all those lost oceanic souls that could not get in the pre-determined servers and a chance for friends/family to reunite.
There is no official word on xfer either, me and my friends are all just a confused bunch now as to what to do. Possibly releveling on the 'promised' new servers will solve the issue. Then again, no server name has been announced so likely us oceanic players is gona be scattered all across the place and eventually paying to transfer to a server like Tonberry in the end...

Tiamat JP has a lot of Oceanic players :)

Switched from Behemoth NA during EA as I was getting such bad lag & always got hit by AOE's when well out of range ~.~ tis so much better now ^^

To my understanding these are the 'official' Oceania servers:
JP Legacy - Masamune
JP New - Tonberry
JP New - Tiamat
NA Legacy - Sargatanas
NA New - Behemoth

Not sure which ones are still open to new characters though~

I check quite frequently (whenever I log in/out, or get force disconnected) and all servers are pretty much locked down 24/7. I understand they are working to alleviate the issues, however it seems Tonberry (and possibly Tiamat) will never remain open long enough to get 'all' the oceanic players on to them, or at least allow enough time for friend/family groups to coordinate onto either of the worlds until after the free month is over and potential numbers drop.

Of course having a third world can potentially cause greater population issues when the free month cut off passes, but it seems people just want to play with their friends on a JP server that has a decent population of Oceanic/english speaking players (preferably without the login issues!).

I wasted my first week on American servers (Im an Aussie) stayed up all night till Tonberry, Masamune, Tiamat, Sargatanas and Behemoth were open....made 4 toons on Tonberry....spent 24 hours in Gridania not ONE shout conversation happened in the 7 hours I was logged on despite shouting between quests I had NOT ONE FC or link shell invitation. I then moved to a character in Ul dah...same problem NO conversation by anyone and despite me asking NO offers of any sort. I asked if there were any Australians on the server and NOT ONE reply. Havent tried the others cant see any point if I get the same response.

Ive encountered NO Australians on this unofficial Oceanic servers. The FC I was in was 95% Japanese speaking. I got an invite within 5 minutes but it was too difficult my Japanese comprehension is not fast enough to use Japanese for anything other than shopping and daily life.

If I cant get an FC or link shell I might have to leave the game. I didnt buy it to play alone. I can do that with The Witcher. I came here to interact with others while playing. I hate to say this guys but ive seen more Australians on other servers. Ive wasted 1 week of my 3 weeks holiday (because of the crashing and server locking and lack of English speaking guilds) which I wont get for another 6 months.

I cant believe people can be so rude and a whole server at that.

Searching out the Aussies just needs the right bait, you know, a bit of "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie". Seriously though you must have been extremely unlucky to not get any responses or people were in other zones and didn't see the chat because there are plenty of Aussies on Tonberry. I have a secondary character on Tonberry and see chat in English all the time when I'm there, perhaps you should give it another try. Also check here http://oceania.guildwork.com/

I do want to go to one of the Oceania/SEA servers though, I'm actually more of a SEA player. Currently I'm in Cerberus, having met literally no Aussies. On Guildworks, I met one Aussie guy however, might contact him tonight.
