Official Statement Please (Anti Aliasing Injectors)

Square-Enix, what is your stance on injectors like SweetFX?

SweetFX can inject Anti-Aliasing into the client to make the game look nicer, what is your stance on this? I would like to use the plugin because the current FXAA supplied isn't very good at keeping jagged edges away.

I don't want to get banned for making my game look nicer.

What?

Thousands of people use SweetFX already, all those crisp and highly detailed screenshots? yea those are SweetFX screenshots. If you see screenshots with no jagged edges, crisp detail in the face/gear, those are all Anti-Aliasing injectors. It does nothing but make the game look better, this is why I'm asking for a statement.

It's no different from forcing Anti-Aliasing through the Nvidia Control Panel...

I haven't used the plugin yet because of this very reason, I don't want to risk my account over something stupid.

You should probably just use the control panel, NVidia and Radeon both have suites for this that alter the information at the GPU level which wont risk any half decent game anti hacking system from noticing memory state alteration...

I'm at work so I can't test this yet (and probably couldn't login anyway) but has it been confirmed that Nvidias forced AA works with A Realm Reborn? if so, would you recommend I disable FXAA and use the AA through Nvidia instead?

Would it be a huge performance hit? I have a pretty good rig but I'm concerned that Nvidias AA might be too much?

I wasn't able to get SweetFX to work with this game. Launcher refuses to start if I try it xD

Would be nice though. I tried the nVidia option, but it didn't seem to work.

Works with AMD CCP, which you can add FFXIV.exe to the 3D Application Settings profile.
You can then tweak he AA and you'll get similar effect as SweetFX.
However, doing so may cause instability within game and much sacrifice of performance.

Can vouch after trying this, any type of AA (outside of MLAA which is basically AMD's version of FXAA) screws up the color. It's not worth forcing AA through AMD CCC.

Thankfully I have ahigh rez monitor, the jaggies are a little harder to notice.
