May I change my last name?

Hi, are we able to change name in game? Cause I accidentally add Reddemon instead of RedDemon. Do we able to change name in futures?

I suspect you typed in the right name but it was normalized from RedDemon to Reddemon by whatever name filter that runs through our names after we finish typing them on the char creation screen.
As of now, I don't think you can change last name. I suggest not deleting your character.

I personally like that there is some level of automated name fixing/filtering. I am not a fan of seeing characters running around in MMO's with names like "xxxTehS3phir0th BahamutZero257xxx".

Don't get me wrong, I support your desire for being able to change character name through some sort of service, I was just expressing that I don't like immersion breaking and often times horribly unoriginal names for characters in MMO's.

Perhaps a possible solution is something that I like to do when making character names.
Start with an idea that I want for my character name, in your case "Red Demon" and then figuring a way to rework the word/words into something that fits together in one word and that sounds cool as a name. I personally like translating things into Latin or French and then combining the words and giving it a little twist to make is sound right as a name.

That is actually how I came up with my character's name "Vesperaeon Vaillantes".
Vesper is "evening time or stars that come out during the evening" in Latin and "Aeon" is an archaic or alternative way of spelling Eon, which is a very long time and has the connotations of being eternal. So I took the words, combined them into a singular first name that roughly means "The eternal evening star". Then the last name is just the French word for "valiant" with an "es" added at the end to make it sound better as a last name for an Elezen.

Just some food for thought on how to maybe rework the name if you do get the ability to change it.

Wouldn't it just make more sense to be Red Demon? A lack of space would drive me up the wall looking at that.
I would also like to see a feature to change our names.
Hell I would be fine if it was only the last name.

There's always the possibility that they'll add something in to change our names later, although I have to say I personally think it's unlikely (but then I didn't think they'd bring out something like the 30 day "Fantasia" reward where you can change your appearance once, so who knows...)

When the world transfers become available you could potentially create a character with the same name on another world and then world transfer to that world. With FFXI if that happened you would be forced to change your name which MIGHT be what happens here too (or it might just outright refuse to allow you to transfer).

You'd then of course have to transfer back though (if you wanted to) and each transfer usually has a low cost on it AND (again based on experience with FFXI) you can only transfer a character so often/delay between another transfer.

Your profile page suggests you've only got the 1 job to level 14 so you may wish to consider simply deleting the character and starting over. I'd recommend creating the new character first though to make sure you can actually get on the server you want to get on due to all the servers currently being locked! Getting to level 14 doesn't take that long, especially the 2nd time as you know more what you're doing, heck a lot of us got multiple jobs to 20 over the 2 day phase 4 weekend

I should probably also mention, just in case, if you're a 1.0 character deleting it would lose the tattoo on the back of its neck, although all new characters get all the special items redeemed on your account, they don't get the 1.0 tattoo unless it's an original character.
