Cross Bar IS NOT good!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok so I did not ply 1.0 beyond beta and did not use a controller, so forgive my potential ignorance here.

1. how is using the arrow keys to navigate the skills faster than the crossbar? and how is it easier to remember from each skill the exact number of up/down and left/right to get to every other skill you may need to use? (i know normal rotation may be ok, but its not always 1 2 3 4, repeat if your playing up to potential of the class)

2. if the arrow-pad is constantly needed for selecting skills how do you target? seeing how that is primarily how you target in 2.0.

3. if arrow-pad is being used to select skills how are you able to select skills when on the move? my thumb cant do arrow-pad plus joystick at the same time, and if yours can your quite special. I know for me Square Triangle Circle and X are always used for skills I may need to use when moving and arrows only for things that should be done when not moving because of this issue.

HA I have mastered the cross bar and will no longer fell comfortable using the archaic straight line macro, so many skills with just the flick of a switch and push of a button
But to each his own, if you enjoy straight bar macro good, but don't bash the cross bar because you are no good at using it

Having the option on PS3 is all that some of us are asking for. As for the bashing it doesn't need to be done, It would be like someone bashing you for playing Battlefield 3 on PS3 or Xbox when its far better on PC.

I found it great up until the high lvl40s when I started to get more skills and then when I Hit 50 I started doing AK runs I really started to dislike it. Level cap is going to happen and when it does we will have even more skills.

Wow, I love the cross bar. I even switched to using a controller just because of it.

Tips:
If you're using multiple pages, put the actions you use the most on all the page in the same place. So you always have cure, common ws/spell available no matter what.

I don't think you can cycle back but you can hold R1 and hit a button or dpad direction to switch to any bar so you don't need to cycle. I have set 8 shared and just hit R1 + dpad left to get to all my cross-job skills like mounts, items, and return. Then I removed set 8 from the cycle so it doesn't flip there if I am flipping through the rest. Once I used the skill one R1 press gets me back to the home set.

Remove the actions from the bar, it will only scroll through the bars that have actions assigned to them

I think the biggest problem I have with the crossbar is that I can only have one, with a toggle button that gets confusing without being able to put icons up that remind me what I set pallet D-up as.

All in all though, I love it for most situations, I just wish that, along with the mouse and controller options, they had a hybrid system like in 1.0.

That's too bad. I put my mount, class swapping, sprinting, etc there for when I'm not in combat.

I wish that we could tag which sets are active for cycling based on if we are in combat or not.

targeting modes dont stay on the settings you set the always revert back to ALL or OTHER.

Turn off your sheathed/unsheathed filters and it'll fix your targeting problems.

I see all you cross bar fan girls up in here giving tips which is amazing. Most of you are down playing any changes which is very selfish.

There is no reason why the three options can't be added and as simple as the Toggle/Hold/Mixed option to change. I am all for 1.0/2.0 and Hotbar for PS3.

I bought the PC and PS3 version solely because the PS3 Play Guide(check site) showed a Hotbar and the use of keyboard and mouse.


Many are very disappointed in the removal of this feature during the final beta phase.

This is the only reason I bought the game(period), I added the PC version for the odd time my TV is occupied which is rare, the PC is usually occupied by someone other then myself.

If anyone from SE is paying attention, myself and many from my online community plan to cancel our subscription and some plan to ask for a refund on the sole basis of false advertising. When we purchased the game because of a advertised feature we expect it to be there.
