Thread: JP lobby down, causes lengthy US/EU delay; but, opposite is not true.

When the JP world list is unable to be retrieved, the Character Selection screen takes a long time to come up with the NA/EU world list (15-60 seconds).

On the contrary, when the NA/EU world list is unable to be retrieved, the Character Selection screen takes no time at all to come up with the JP world list (<3 seconds).

What a leap... Might as well have gone all out and pulled the Hitler card. Jeez.

It is probably just an inconsistency in error handling. Might lead to or point out other potential issues in the future. Should probably be looked into.

It is due to that the JP Data center is the first server pinged. than moves on the NA/EU data center. If the JP data center does not reply it pings it again. for what I can see is about 3-5 ping sets before moving to the NA/EU date server. It also attempts to ping the NA/EU data center 3-5 times before it officially tells you in the world selection screen that they are down. Other wise you get the NA/EU error on the first ping and it loads the JP data center. Not really Racist. Just a JP based company giving priority to the JP consumer. Just like any other company, keep your base consumer happy.

Perhaps we should refrain from throwing inappropriate names and terms around. This serves no purpose to addressing the problems we are all experiencing.

Simply not true. The first time you press START, it can take a long time to get anywhere, regardless of whether it's the JP or NA/EU world list it can't get.
After that, pressing START again, it's usually quick (I don't think it retries very quickly after a failure).
