These posts always make me lol...American servers :PDunno actually I agree with Beef, I wouldn't have let my kids play this game when they were 12, and I would be right beside them all the time if I did to make sure zone chat was off, and that I saw any tells they got. All the trash talk in gen chat doesn't worry me, but it isn't something I would have wanted my 12 yr old reading. I know they hear stuff at school but come on, some of the things I have seen said in chat are really not for 12 yr old eyes.

No need to throw in personal attacks. It's a video game, she wasn't smart enough to distrust a stranger online, that says more about your parenting skills than it does about humanity as a whole. Sorry, but the naive get scammed. Only the smart ones learn from it, the terminally naive come here to complain about it.
If you lack that much common sense then you deserve what you get.
I got scammed once when I was in second grade. Lost my neopet account after being promised 10,000 Neopoints in exchange for my account information. Needless to say I lost the account, but at least I learned from that experience.

funny part is people that usually say that the person shouldn't of let there kid on the game, are either young/used to be young and playing this or some other mmo with a age restriction...or doing something like this themselves and are trying to find a excuse for it.
ahhh,the internet.

It's not a personal attack, it's the truth. You're supposed to teach your kids not to trust strangers, if she made it to 12 not learning this lesson then he's doing it wrong. Which furthermore reinforces why she shouldn't even be on the internet to begin with until that has sunk in.

school is actually going more to the internet you know, just today my little sister got a homework from her teacher which was to link up to some internet group with the rest of the class since thats how she will be sending in her homework/projects. kids will meet the internet in this generation at any age. It's not a personal attack, it's the truth. You're supposed to teach your kids not to trust strangers, if she made it to 12 not learning this lesson then he's doing it wrong. Which furthermore reinforces why she shouldn't even be on the internet to begin with until that has sunk in.
and when does any parent have to teach there kid to not trust trading money from a video game with another person,my dad never taught me that. when you(if...i doubt it) have a kid,you probably wont spend half your time teaching your son/daughter to not trust deals in game to trade gear/gil with someone who is giving you a huge bonus.

The way you disseminate what I said with your own circular logic is astounding, but since the point flew over you like a plane I'll lower the bar for a moment.
The point is to teach them not to trust strangers, I do believe I mentioned that. Whether it's a video game or real life shouldn't matter, the lesson is the same. If something seems to good to be true, it probably is.
Not sure why mentioning your sister has any factual proof to anything either to discredit me or justify the OP in any way, I never said NO kids should be allowed on the internet, just overly trusting ones with neglectful parents.
Try again if you like to pick apart my statements and find non-existent correlations to add your own anecdotes to.

It's called basic economics bro, are you even serious?
Look, I straight up told her how the deal works - she invests 100 gil at the moment, and I promise a return investment of 1,000 gil in a weeks time. It's called making an investment, and I laid out the entire plans to her already. With a basic cash injection I will take the money and use it on the market house using strategic base algorithms to determine low buys I can later produce for higher sells. All I needed was the cash up front to make this happen, and my promise of returning the investment was 100% legit.
If she really thought she was going to get 1k gil immediately I suggest she read the fine print - it says that it will take up to a weeks time until the investment return can be achieved, but the amount can be withheld until a specified time no later than 2 months at which point all incurred money from the initial start up plus interest will be paid out.
not defending the OP or anything. but the internet is babysitting most of this country from the age of 5(maybe even younger). this isn't 1970It's not a personal attack, it's the truth. You're supposed to teach your kids not to trust strangers, if she made it to 12 not learning this lesson then he's doing it wrong. Which furthermore reinforces why she shouldn't even be on the internet to begin with until that has sunk in.
